Dustin Rousseau (b. 1984) is a painter whose work explores form, line, structure, space, and color. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (2009) and a Master of Architecture (2011) from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is currently an Architectural Associate at Dyke Nelson Architects. His education and 15 years of experience in the field of architecture has shaped his approach to painting and his appreciation for proportion, scale, order, and restraint.

Dustin’s paintings also respond to the complexity and noise of the world by reducing them to something quieter and more focused. His best-known “line” paintings explore the tension between the fluidity of paint and the structure imposed upon it by the tools he uses to draw into the paint. Through measured compositions and simple gestures, he approaches painting much as a designer approaches space—creating order and defining relationships within something inherently fluid.

In 2019, Dustin’s work caught the attention of Portia de Rossi, owner and CEO of General Public, an art curation company that specializes in 3D printed paintings that are sold to a global audience. Seventeen of his paintings have been scanned, 3D printed as synographs, and are now being sold exclusively through Restoration Hardware stores around the world and online at RH.com.
